Compliance with directives and
international regulations (RoHS, Reach)

As an international company, ETA SA – a subsidiary of the Swatch Group – has a social, environmental and ethical responsibility. All of ETA SA’s products comply with the requirements of all national, European and international regulations in force in its business sector.

RoHS 2 Europe

Directive 2011/65/EU on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment

European directive 2011/65/UE (RoHS 2) governs the use of certain hazardous substances in electric and electronic devices. This directive and its applications in different national laws are given the abbreviation RoHS.

RoHS 2 China

Directive SJ/T 11364-2014 (Management Methods for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products)

Having entered into force in July 2016, this directive governs the presence of certain hazardous substances in electric and electronic equipment as prescribed by the directive SJ/T 11364-2014. It is known as RoHS 2 China as its objectives are similar to the European RoHS.

REACH

REGULATION (CE) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals

REACH stands for the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals. This regulation sets out new European chemical product legislation concerning the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals, including those contained in consumer products such as watches and jewellery.
